Oban Scotland (2015)

DSCN2956 Oban from the CalMac FerryThe 2015 International Clan Gathering was held at the Royal Hotel, Oban on 14th and 15th August 2015.

International Clan Gatherings are a great way to connect with MacAulays (of all spellings) from around the world. You’ll meet people from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and countries from around the world (we met people from down under and the United States). And, of course, you’ll meet we Canadians there for the event.

An t-Òban (in Gaelic meaning The Little Bay) is a resort town within the Argyll and Bute council area of Scotland. Oban occupies a beautiful setting in the Firth of Lorn. The bay is a near perfect horseshoe, protected by the island of Kerrera, and beyond Kerrera the Isle of Mull. To the north is the long low island of Lismore, and the mountains of Morvern and Ardgour.
