As a teaser of what you can expect when visiting Northern Ireland, below is a photo of Layde Cemetery and the ancient ruins of Layde Parish Church, Cushendall in the Gens of Antrim, the burial place of many MacAulay/ McAuley’s.

Two wall plaques tell of the Scottish MacAulay family from Ardencaple (close relatives of the Clan Chief) beginning with Major Alexander MacAulay who served in the army of Charles I in Ulster (c. 1642-47).

A beautiful and mystical must see place for any MacAulay!
