We had a fantastic time at the Montreal Highland Games today. The weather was perfect, the pipes and drums uplifting, the heavy games fun to watch and the music was great.
A visit to the Clan tents was first up with a shortbread cookie from Clan Logan a great way to start. Also a grand visit with Clan Keith. Then off for a tour through the vendors, including a visit to our favourite Montreal celtic shop Kennedy’s. Getting a big hug from a vendor is always a treat.
We had an amazing Scottish pie before watching some of the heavy games, which we enjoyed throughout the day.
The massed pipes and drums as part of the opening ceremonies was stirring. Then after a quick visit to the beer tent and then off to watch our ‘tutor’ from the Glengarry Highland Games perform with the Fredericton Police Band. They did a great job!
We were fortunate in seeing three great bands in the beer tent. The Salty Dogs, the Squidjiggers and Kitchen Party. A fantastic way to end a great day. We really enjoyed the Montreal Highland Games. They were friendly, easy to navigate and all in all, made for a great day out at a Highland Games!
